Original pastel drawing by Swedish artist Jules Schyl, signed and dated 1943. This nude study features soft color contrasts and dynamic strokes, typical of Schyl’s modernist style.
Jules Schyl (1893–1977), born in Copenhagen, was a Swedish painter and graphic artist. He studied in Stockholm and Copenhagen, later co-founding the artist group De tolv, which played a key role in introducing Modernism to Swedish art. Influenced by travels across Europe, Schyl worked in Expressionist and later Cubist styles. His works are held in major Swedish museum collections.
