Description
In 1980s Italy, design explored sculptural forms and expressive metallic finishes, in line with the postmodernist movement. This pair of aluminum vases is a characteristic illustration of this trend.
Italian edition from the 80s, designer unidentified. Made from cast aluminum, then surface-treated to achieve this striated texture and satin gold finish. The open and angular forms evoke a formal exploration closer to sculpture than to a utilitarian object.
Very good overall condition. Some visible micro-marks and surface irregularities, consistent with the material and manufacturing. Beautiful, even patina, which enhances the reading of the volumes.
The large model measures 31.5 cm in height, 20 cm in width, and 5 cm in depth. The second, lower and more elongated, measures 20 cm in height, 31 cm in width, and 5 cm in depth.
To be displayed as a pair on a console, a sideboard, or as a centerpiece. Functional or purely decorative, they immediately structure a space.
