Description
In 1980s Italy, aluminum casting became a field of formal experimentation. Designers explored organic, almost sculptural silhouettes, made possible by mastered molding techniques.
This pair of vases, from an unidentified manufacturer, perfectly illustrates this research. Made of cast aluminum, then polished, they feature a characteristic hollowed-out shape, somewhere between a decorative object and a design piece. The molding work is precise, with continuous curves and a visual balance between solid and void.
The set is in very good condition. There are slight surface micro-scratches, consistent with use and age, which contribute to the metal’s patina without altering the perception of the forms.
The large model measures 46 cm in height, 35 cm in length, and 11 cm in width. The smaller one is 34.5 cm in height, 24.5 cm in length, and 7 cm in width. The proportions are complementary, designed to work together.
To be arranged as a duo on a console, a side cabinet, or as a centerpiece. Can be used alone or with minimalist compositions.
