Description
A pair of pewter vases, crafted in 1953 by the goldsmith and designer Ernst Svedbom, who also served as the royal purveyor to the court of Sweden. These vases feature a neoclassical design, with a bulbous base and oversized, gracefully curved handles that add a sense of fluid motion. The larger vase commands attention as a striking centerpiece, while the smaller one mirrors its design in a more compact form, creating a balanced and cohesive pair.
Both vases are in good vintage condition, showcasing a natural patina that highlights their age and character. There are small marks, but nothing out of the ordinary—typical for pieces of their era. They can also be polished to restore a sparkling finish, depending on personal preference.
Each vase is marked with the Svedbom logo, ”Svenskt Tenn” (Swedish Pewter), ”Made in Sweden”, and hallmarked ”C9”, indicating the year 1953.
