Stoneware pitcher with pyrite glaze by Jean-Pierre Viot, Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, France, circa 1960.
Wheel-thrown form with a gently constricted body, strap handle and pinched spout. Grey speckled glaze with iron-rich inclusions (“pyrite”), typical of his production.
Very good condition, with a minor firing flaw at the rim, barely visible.
