Description
Puffball shades are hand-sewn in the UK in a relaxed cotton-linen mix and lined in sheer cream cotton which, when the lamp is switched on, emits a beautiful soft diffused light. The shades are trimmed with a band of hand-made matching cotton binding and supplied with a metre of loose 1 cm wide matt black Grosgrain ribbon.
The Puffball is inspired by the puffed skirts first seen in the haute couture collections of the 1950s by designers like Guy Laraoche, Christian Dior and Balenciaga and of course popularised again later in the 1980s.
