Description
In 1970s Italy, the combined use of plexiglass and polished metal became prevalent in office and decorative objects. This aesthetic, both functional and precious, accompanied the rise of a more architectural design. Large rectangular Italian box, work from the 1970s, unattributed. Solid plexiglass structure, molded lid with geometric projections. Silvered metal body, probably shaped and polished, inserted between two transparent plates. The whole piece plays on the contrasts of material and light, typical of Italian production of this period.
Good overall condition. Minor signs of wear inside the compartment and micro-scratches on the metal, consistent with age. The plexiglass is clear, without any significant damage. Balanced format, approximately 22.5 cm long, 10 cm wide and 4.5 cm high. Can be used as a desk box, catch-all tray or discreet display case on a console table.
