Description
An exquisite example of late 20th-century Italian glassmaking, this ‘Fazzoletto’ (handkerchief) table lamp was handcrafted on the island of Murano by the renowned Vetreria LAG (now Melogranoblu).
The lamp is executed in a rich, warm ‘Opalino’ amber glass. This traditional 15th-century technique involves layering ‘Lattimo’ (milk glass) with colored glass to create a unique depth and a soft, diffused glow when illuminated. The organic folds of the shade are achieved through the ‘flying hand’ technique, ensuring that each piece is a one-of-a-kind sculptural object.
The glass shade is supported by a slender, bronze-toned curved stem and a circular base, reflecting the minimalist yet playful aesthetic of the 1980s Italian postmodern era.
This piece still retains its original Vetri Murano (VM) authenticity label with producer code 004, guaranteeing its provenance as a genuine Murano artisan product. A sophisticated addition to any contemporary or vintage-inspired interior. »
