Description
A pair of solid oak, marble topped cabinets made for a principal town house in Belgium in the early 1930s
The doors are faced in finely executed cube parquetry, laid in quarter-sawn oak to create a subtle three-dimensional effect.
The original patinated steel handles remain in place, anchored by circular bakelite mounts with pale escutcheons.
Each cabinet retains its original richly veined rose marble top. The marble presents well, with only small edge nibbles consistent with age.
Internally fitted with two shelves and two drawers. Original keys present.
Very good, original condition throughout.
Substantial yet balanced in proportion, they work well as a pair flanking fireplace, incorporated into a kitchen scheme or placed side by side in a dining or hallway setting.

Available to view at The Old Cinema, Chiswick, London.
