Description
A pair of Italian table lamps from the 1970s, each hand-carved from alabaster in the form of a chess knight. The stone displays a spectacular interplay of amber, cream, and reddish-brown with dramatic veining unique to each piece. Large in scale and substantial in weight, these lamps command attention whether illuminated or not — as much sculpture as they are functional objects.
Both have been rewired with new brass fittings and a Euro Type C plug, and come with the crisp white linen shades shown. The original ‘Genuine Alabaster, Hand Carved, Made in Italy’ label remains intact on each base.
