Description
A striking pair of works from the 1920s–30s, attributed to Swedish artist Brita Nordencreutz. Executed on paper with watercolour and pencil, each painting depicts two figures in dynamic poses set against loosely rendered landscape backgrounds — drawn with confident, gestural linework that leaves the paper ground exposed as a third tone throughout, lending the works an sketch-like vitality. Presented in matching white wooden frames behind glass.
Brita Nordencreutz (1899–1982) was a Swedish painter who trained in Stockholm before studying in Paris, including under the Cubist painter André Lhote, and later in Munich. Known for her bold figurative works and colourful landscapes, she exhibited widely in Sweden as well as in Paris throughout her career.
