Description
In the 1970s, Italian design explored the combination of noble materials and clean lines. The contrast between precious wood and brushed metal became an aesthetic language in its own right, both warm and rigorous. This poplar burl and metal valet tray perfectly embodies this quest for balance. The wooden band, with its deep, flowing grain, reveals a carefully selected veneer. It is framed by a circular metal structure, whose understated finish highlights the organic richness of the burl.
The slightly concave and perfectly smooth interior offers a beautiful, discreet mirrored effect. The condition is very good. The metal has a light patina consistent with the period. The poplar burl retains all its luster, with a few discreet marks visible up close, without detracting from the overall elegance. It measures 15 cm wide by 4 cm high, an ideal size for a console, a desk or a coffee table. Perfect as a catchall, welcome dish or simple decorative object, it brings a refined 70’s Italian touch to a contemporary interior.
