Description
In the 1960s, Seguso explored new sculptural forms in sommerso glass, where color seems suspended within the material. This « Venice » trinket tray is a beautiful example, with its deep purple set within a clear block of clean lines. Designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso , it illustrates the technical mastery of sommerso glass, obtained through successive layers of colored glass. The façade features a hand-engraved depiction of Venice, a rare feature on this type of piece and characteristic of commissioned work of the period. The condition is very good. There is a slight dent on the top , discreet and consistent with its age. The edges are sharp, the transparency is intact, and the color is uniform. An authentic piece, unpolished and unrestored.
