Description
In 1970s Italy, the interplay between metal and synthetic materials became prominent in the decorative arts. This box is a restrained and masterful illustration of this, typical of Milanese productions of the period. The structure is made of silver-plated metal, paired with a thick, precisely cut, transparent plexiglass lid. The whole piece relies on a play of simple lines, where the transparency highlights the contents without overexposing them. The designer and manufacturer remain unidentified, as is often the case with these objects from workshops or small manufacturers in the Milan region.
The condition is very good. The metal has an elegant and even patina, characteristic of its age. There is a very slight chip on one side of the plexiglass, discreet, with no noticeable visual impact or effect on use. It will be perfect for holding jewelry, accessories or chosen objects, bringing an Italian touch from the 1970s, both graphic and functional.
