Description
Handcrafted in his London studio this is part of Jesse’s inquirey on metal as a substance often mischaracterized by its apparent rigidity and permanence. Contrary to its conventional associations with solidity and resistance, metal here is approached as a pliable, almost paper-like medium capable of translation, gesture, and lightness. Through the iterative transformation of paper maquettes into steel forms, he has produced a new aesthetic language that challenges the assumed limitations of opaque materials in relation to light. Each piece is constructed entirely from mild steel, both base and shade, revealing how reflectivity, form, and surface modulation can reimagine the language of illumination.
