Description
In 1960s Italy, cut crystal became the preferred material for desk accessories and coffee tables. Specialized workshops then produced a multitude of compact and geometric shapes, playing on solid volumes and perfectly polished hollows. This square crystal ashtray embodies this aesthetic. Sculpted from a single block of clear crystal, it features a precisely carved circular receptacle and four discreet notches on its surface.
The condition is very good. Some minor signs of wear may appear from certain angles, consistent with a piece over sixty years old, without altering the clarity of the crystal or the quality of its edges. Placed on a coffee table, desk or shelf, it works equally well as an ashtray or as a small design object, adding a graphic and luminous touch.
