About the Artist — Ulf Trotzig
Ulf Trotzig (1925–2013) was a Swedish painter, illustrator, and graphic artist known for his energetic, expressive approach to abstraction. Born in Föllinge, Jämtland, he studied at the Valand Academy in Gothenburg and continued developing his practice through time in France and Italy. Working across painting, printmaking, and public commissions, Trotzig became recognised for compositions that balance spontaneity with structure. His work was widely exhibited and remains sought-after for its distinctive Nordic modernist sensibility.
