Description
Stone already extracted and processed becomes the starting point. The piece is produced from the end of a portuguese Moleanos limestone block, a rough and irregular section that sees limited use in commercial applications due to its heterogeneity, dimensional inconsistency, and greater complexity in processing and application. Although fully quarried and processed, this portion is less commonly employed within standardized market systems. Rather than correcting these qualities, the design preserves the stone’s natural surface, weight, and structure. Manual stone-picking techniques are combined with industrial processes, merging ancestral craft with contemporary production. Untouched and touched surfaces coexist within a single object, revealing a deliberate duality between the raw and the refined, allowing both material languages to remain visible, essential, and in dialogue.
